Fowles Wines
Wine and High Country
Fowles Wine is family owned and the first Victorian winery to win the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge trophy for Australia’s Best Shiraz.
Our vineyards and winery are located in the cool climate granite landscape of the Strathbogie Ranges wine region, Victoria, Australia.
Fowles Wine is led by President and CEO Matt Fowles. A former lawyer who swapped the vitriol for the vineyard, Matt is sustainable food advocate and a responsible hunter and is the brains behind our innovative Ladies Who Shoot their Lunch and Are you Game? wines. Matt and his family are based in Virginia.
Our wine making team is led by Chief Winemaker Victor Nash. A Young Australian Winemaker of the Year finalist with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Wine Science), Victor has been the talent behind our award winning wines for over ten years.
We believe the world’s best wines are made in the vineyard and the special combination of topography, soil and climate in the Strathbogie Ranges is what gives our wines their ‘structural core’ and personality. Generally our wines are only gently touched by winemaker hands.
However, sometimes we spend more time in the winery crafting our wines to suit a particular purpose – in our case, making wine to match with food.
