Maison Brédif
Vouvray
Known for his Vouvray and his mellow wines, Mr Brédif was a winemaker pioneer, creating sparkling Vouvray at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1980, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took up the torch as a true wine lover. A lover of quality and tradition, he has given this centuries-old house a new lease of life. His troglodyte cellars of the Domaine dug in the tufa stone from the 10th century are among the most beautiful and largest appellation. They contain scarce wines, with vintages dating back to 1874.
Depending on the clay-limestone, siliceous or sandy terroirs, the exposure and the age of the vines, Maison Brédif produces three types of wines: the classic Vouvray, the Nectar Marc Brédif harvested late during certain exceptional vintages, as well as the Vigne Blanche, a wine made from the vines of the same name and exclusively owned by the house: this monopoly produces an excellent dry white wine.
Maison Brédif also produces red and rosé wines in Chinon, including the prestigious Chinon Réserve Privée and Chinon Blanc.
