About the Wine
Pampana Super Salento Rosato is a fresh and vibrant rosé wine from the sun-drenched vineyards of Salento in southern Italy. Created by Fabio Cordella, this wine reflects the bright Mediterranean character that defines rosé wines from Puglia. The warm climate, abundant sunshine and cooling sea breezes from the Ionian and Adriatic seas allow the grapes to develop expressive fruit while preserving freshness and balance. Crafted in a modern and elegant style, this rosé captures the lively and relaxed spirit of southern Italy.
Tasting Notes
Delicate coral pink in the glass with brilliant reflections. The nose reveals aromas of wild strawberries, red berries and subtle floral notes. On the palate the wine is crisp, smooth and refreshing with lively acidity and a clean, elegant finish. Perfect as an aperitif and an excellent companion to seafood, grilled fish, light pasta dishes and Mediterranean salads.
Pàmpana is more than a name. In the Salento, especially around Copertino, “Pàmpana” refers to the leaf of the grapevine. It is also the historic nickname of the Cordella family, a lineage deeply rooted in viticulture.
The Cordella story starts in Spain, where the family served as noble commanders. During the High Middle Ages they settled in Italy, first in the Veneto, Marche and Abruzzo regions, and later in Salento. In this fertile land, around Copertino, they built a lasting connection with wine.
Today, Fabio Cordella continues this legacy. Inspired by generations before him, he carries forward a deep respect for the land and its vineyards. His great-great-grandfather Francesco, known as “Ttau Pampana”, his great-grandfather, and his grandfather Totò all passed on their knowledge and passion.
Pàmpana is a Super Salento blend of Negroamaro, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. International structure meets local character. The result is a wine with depth, balance and elegance.
The wine ages in French oak barriques, followed by 6 to 8 months of bottle refinement. This creates a smooth texture, layered aromas and a long, refined finish.
