The Domaine des Espérances, the winery of the three winemakers, is located in one of the most beautiful and versatile areas of France; in Languedoc-Roussillon. Close to the Spanish border and about 50 km from the Mediterranean Sea. It is located on a high plateau 140 m above sea level.M above the village of Lézignan Corbières in the middle of the Corbières wine region.
The Domaine has 30 hectares, 15 of which are planted with vines, 15 with garrigue.
The mild climate with lots of sun and wind as well as the weathered limestone and clay soils offer ideal cultivation conditions for viticulture. Here, the winegrowers Chantal, Franziska and Alexandra Marty, born in Switzerland, have been pressing expressive, sun-ripened organic wines since 2003.
Our goal is to preserve the natural paradise "Domaine des Espérances" with all the biodiversity and soil diversity. To extend the life of the vines from 20 to 70 years and to harvest enjoyable, ripe grapes during all these years. Natural fluctuations from year to year are deliberately allowed.
The Domaine produces about 25,000 bottles of wine annually, most of them red wines from the grape varieties Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Petit Verdot and Marselan. White wine is made from Grenache blanc and rosé from Cinsault, Mourvèdre. All wines are produced with the utmost care and with respect for nature. The wines are controlled by the authorities and are certified Pays de l'Aude vin bio.
Domaine des Espérances has received various awards for its organic wines, such as the gold medal at the International Trophy 2021 in Frankfurt for the Dealta 2014 and the silver medal in Paris for the Alpha 2016.
The wines bear names after the Greek alphabeth, which stand out from the crowd.
