With the huge success of our first wine, Balfour Brut Rosé, we turned our passion into a family business. Today, we are proud to offer an exceptional guest experience across 400 acres of pristine Kent countryside. From expert-led winery tours and guided wine tastings, to stunning vineyard walks and nature trails within ancient oak woodland. Here at Biddenden Vineyards, Kent’s original vineyard, we pride ourselves on being a family run vineyard with the second and third generation of the Barnes family managing the estate.  Biddenden Vineyards celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019, an exciting milestone to have reached at an exciting time for English, and especially Kentish wine.  The family is able to draw on 5 decades of winemaking knowledge and pair this with new methods & techniques to ensure that Biddenden is at the forefront of the English wine industry. Today our single estate vineyard spans 23 acres of gentle south facing slopes situated in a sheltered valley, just outside the picturesque Wealden village of Biddenden. 11 different grape varieties are grown here to produce our array of award-winning White, Rosé, Red and Sparkling English wines.

At Simpsons', we believe that the finest wines convey a rich sense of provenance and integrity, firmly rooted in the characteristics and exquisite nuances of their terroir. This is why we settled for nothing less than the finest parcels of land in southern England to plant the vines for Simpsons’ exceptional English still and sparkling wines. The Simpsons' vineyards occupy glorious positions on the sunny, sheltered slopes of the North Downs of Kent, protected from the whimsy of the English climate by ancient woodland and anchored in the iconic chalky soils so highly revered in the world of both still and sparkling wine. On our French wine estate, the award-winning Domaine Sainte Rose in the Languedoc region, we have always pursued the cleaner, truer flavours of the grape, and we are now bringing this savoir-faire to our English vineyards. With rootstock meticulously matched to our soil and a new world-class winery just minutes from the vines. Each vine has been planted by us and nurtured by us, and each bunch of grapes will, when the moment is quite right, be picked and pressed by us – allowing us at every step to deliver the fullest expression of our Kentish terroir.  By personally delivering the lightest of touches at each step of the winemaking process, we believe we are creating wines of great provenance and presence, so that when every glass of Simpsons' English wine is poured, each sip leads you back to the North Downs...

Chapel Down is based in Small Hythe near Tenterden where you will find over 25 acres of vineyards set amongst some beautiful Kentish countryside.

Our vision is simple. We strive to create the finest wines in the world. An uncompromising quest for perfection and a fastidious approach to detail is at the heart of everything we do. We ensure only the best grapes are used in our winemaking by growing and hand-picking them ourselves to present an authentic reflection of a time and place in each of our bottles, by producing exclusively vintage wines that are unique to each growing season. Just an hour from London, come and visit us in Appledore, Kent, to explore our vineyards and find out what makes this corner of England so special for winemaking. Our tasting room, The Nest, is open to visitors all year round. We are open daily 10am - 5pm, stocking a range of limited edition wines that are available to taste and buy exclusively at The Nest. Join us for a guided tour to discover how we produce our award-winning English Sparkling Wines. Tours are run in small groups and hosted by our friendly, knowledgeable staff. We can also take private bookings for tours of various group sizes. If you prefer to explore at your own pace, visit The Nest during opening hours to collect a map and  a self-guided tour of the vineyards, before heading back to enjoy a tasting, or a glass of wine. Throughout the course of the year we host many unique events at The Nest, such as dinners prepared by some of the UK’s most talented chefs, lunches and tastings hosted by our winemaking team, Sunday lunches, and picnics in the vineyard. These often feature vertical tastings or special wines from our library. We also host tailor-made private events and corporate functions.
