Drayton's Family Wines is the oldest winery in Pokolbin, in the heart of Hunter Valley. It's one of the oldest wineries in Australia, combining 170 years of wine-making knowledge and experience with modern techniques and equipment, to produce wines, liqueurs and fortifieds of outstanding quality.  It's a local business, built on the love of wine and a passion for uncompromising quality, which has been reflected in many awards and much acclaim gathered along the journey.  The Drayton Family first ventured into the Hunter Valley in 1853 and, over five generations, created one of the most iconic wine brands in Australia.  Drayton's Family Wines remains 100% Australian owned and fully independent.  The current Drayton's Team continues to include members of the Drayton Family as well as many long-serving loyal employees.

Iron Gate Estate produces wines from its own 25 acre (10 Ha) vineyard as well as purchasing selected fruit from other premium grape-growing areas of NSW. Our vines produce the white varieties of Semillon, Chardonnay and Verdelho that the Hunter is known for, as well as Shiraz, Cabernet and the newly grafted Tempranillo. Iron Gate Estate wines are made with a deep respect for tradition, a keen acceptance of innovation and an unbridled drive for excellence. Our fruit is sourced from our own and local vineyards, as well as other notable cool-climate vineyard regions of NSW, making for a range that’s sure to please discerning palates.

Margan Wines & Restaurant was established in 1996 and is owned and operated by Lisa and Andrew Margan who are proud to have over 100 hectares of quality vineyards, a state of the art winery and striking cellar door and Margan restaurant as part of their onsite wine tourism operations. All the wines of Margan are single vineyard wines produced from grapes grown on the Margan vineyards in the Broke Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley.   Margan is a 5 star winery rated by James Halliday Wine Companion for the last 10 consecutive years, as well as being awarded Hall of Fame for Best Winery at the NSW & Hunter Tourism Awards and Cellar Door of the Year in 2013 and 2018. The beautiful rammed earth Restaurant and Tasting room provide the ideal setting for a unique food and wine experience. Now in its 24th year of wine production, Margan is committed to looking after the land so that it is able to be sustainable for generations to come.  As such, the business is determined to ensure its carbon footprint is as small as possible.  It is one of the most accredited wine tourism businesses in the Hunter and indeed Australia, with full accreditation with the Sustainable Winegrowers Australia in recognition of its environmental sustainability initiatives.

At Sydney Private Day Tours we only offer private and small group charters. Being a private charter guests will have their own comfortable vehicle and experienced driver - guide. Guests can choose a full day tour, half day tour or night tour. Our tour itineraries and destinations are chosen with care aimed at providing our guests with a truly memorable experience.  Our itineraries include the ' must do ' things around Sydney, The Blue Mountains, Canberra and The Hunter Valley. We also visit sites and attractions off the usual 'tourist trail' so guests can really experience Sydney like a local.
